Zingaro has emerged as the foremost artist in the ancient art of vitreous enamel. A process that dates back to the Mycenaean era, glass is fused with metal to create vibrant and elusive plays of light and color. Using strong compositional skills the “tiles” are then mounted on a panel rapped with either brass or copper.

He has followed in the path of master enamellists Fred Ball and Graig Ruwe. Zingaro worked close with Ruwe as his assistant in the art community of Madrid , NM . Today he takes the process further. Brighter colors, more intense imagery and museum quality pieces separate Zingaro from his predecessors and colleagues.

Collectors from around the world enjoy these vitreous enamel masterworks.

Zingaro’s acclaimed artwork is on display in many galleries in the USA and in Berlin Germany .

About us...

The Vitreous Enamel Process

The Zingaro piece is born as thin layers of copper or brass are dusted with finely ground glass. As the layers are kiln fired, they take on the inner luster that sustains the luminescent imagery come.

Further glass layers are then fired to the metal tiles, bonding their vibrancy to the ones before.  Like a fingerprint, each tile takes on a reflection all its own.  The colors coerce each other to excitement as the firing continues.  The task in the artist’s hands is to balance the elements of heat, glass and metal to nurture forth the image.

Each Zingaro piece is an inimitable collaboration of color, concept and medium that draws a unique influence and inspiration for the individual viewer.
